Veritas In-Home Care was born out of love, compassion, and a deeply personal journey. Our story began at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic when my mother who lived by herself, came to visit us. As the uncertainty of the virus grew, we became increasingly worried about her wellbeing if she returned to her home without a solid support system in place. We convinced her to stay with us, and our family stepped in as her caregivers. My wife and children played a vital role, helping her maintain a healthy and meaningful life, filled with love and support.
During that challenging time, I noticed the media highlighting the struggles of so many parents and grandparents who suffered due to a lack of proper care and support—a reality that weighed heavily on my heart. In our neighborhood, I observed ongoing difficulties for seniors: commuting became a challenge, picking up newspapers and mail felt burdensome, mowing lawns was overwhelming, and many lacked companionship to chat about everyday joys like gardening, weather, or sports. It became clear that something essential was missing in our social fabric— a way to help our seniors live with dignity and connection.
Inspired to make a difference, I began assisting neighbors with small chores, bringing my dog and sometimes my kids along to check on their wellbeing. We’d spend time talking, debating sports, and sharing moments of joy. These experiences fueled my passion to create Veritas In-Home Care, where compassionate, personalized support ensures seniors can thrive at home, surrounded by the care and community they deserve.
